Fear and Panic: EU Defence Budgets Boom Amid ‘Russian Threat’ Paranoia

Phobos and Deimos - Fear and Panic

Sssssh. Do you hear that? The sound of two horses, their firey hooves drumming on the ground, eyes glowing like embers as at full gallop they draw the chariot of Mars, the war god. Their names are Phobos and Deimos, Fear and Panic.

Paranoia over a supposed “Russian threat” and the fear of terrorism following the Paris attacks are causing panic among NATO and EU nations, causing governments to vastly increase their defense budgets: 31 European countries have raised their planned defense spending for 2016 by an estimated average of 8.3 percent, compared to 2015, according to a survey of European think tanks.

European Think Tanks versus Russian Armoured Tanks? Current Russian and Chiese military technology is more than a match for anything the USA and NATO have (although thank's to Obamas enlightened defence policy the USA has far more Gay, Bi, Lesbian and Transgender soldiers)

The constantly hyped threat of Russian aggression and the high risk of terror attacks in Europe have pushed member states to spend more on their defense budgets, reversing a trend of defence cuts the decline that weakened European military strength for over twenty years, says a joint study of European think tanks on the defense spending in Europe.

The rush to rearm has been most urgent in central and Eastern Europe, an area covering the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Slovakia, the survey, entitled "Defence Budgets and Cooperation in Europe: Developments, Trends and Drivers," states.

Those seven countries will raise spending by 19.9 percent this year, the report said, with Hungary pushing up spending by 22 percent to nearly €1 billion.

In southeastern Europe, an area covering Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia, the rise will be 9.2 percent, while Western Europe will see a rise of 2.7 percent.

Among the key reasons for the defense spending increase, none of which stand up to scrutiny, are: "Russia’s aggressive posture", "non-conventional threats such as Islamic terrorism", especially after the Paris attacks, and "NATO’s renewed focus on collective defense, and the institutional influence it exerts on Allies."

The last factor apparently refers to NATO’s calls to spend two percent of each member’s GDP on defense.

In fact the Russian government has proved it has no intention of attacking the west by its reacting to repeated provocations and peace treaty violation by the US Government, the EU, and the madman who is Turkey's President, Recep Erdogan, with only verbal rebukes and reminders that certain lines cannot be crossed. Constrast this with the screaming and shouting, posing and posturing of the girlie man who has occupied The White House for the past seven years and the USA's collaboration with human rights abusing regimes in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Uzbekistan, and Israel to promote insurrection in nations whose dictators would not play the west's game of trying to undermine Russian interests.

As Putin has said, there are lines which cannot be crossed, and through the west's use of Turkey and its president Recep 'Mad Dog' Erdogan as their agent provocateur, our leaders have come dangerously close to crossing it

Britain's Choice: Democracy Or Eurocracy
Democracy in the European Union: The people = one vote, the bureaucracy = millions of votes - because, and I quote, "The people are not intelligent enough to understand complex issues". As we have commented before, it is not just a large section of British public opinion that want's to get our country out of Europe. Last week voters in The Netherlands voted by a big majority against the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, which would be a step towards ...

Propaganda War: US Officials Working to Keep Russia, Europe at Odds
Speaking to the US Senate Armed Services Committee this month, Breedlove said that " Russia and the Assad regime are deliberately weaponizing migration from Syria in an attempt to overwhelm European structures and break European resolve." These irrational remarks, and the mainstream media's ability to convey them with a straight face, are an indication of a broken system, experts suggest.

Call The Hackers: US Superplane Grounded By Software Bug
... it was reported late last year during a particularly intense moment in US / Russian relations in the middle east that Pentagon officials had warned Obama not to risk triggering any direct conflict with Russia because the Russians could "obliterate US military capablities."

Ignorance Is Strength: European Parliament Read to clamp Down On Free Speech
The EU is blatantly pro American, supportive of moves towards global government and opposed to democracy, except for the kind of democratic assembly that merely rubber stamps bureaucrats' decisions. Moreover, the EU has well documented designs towards extending 'Europe' into the middle east and north Africa, which makes an insane kind of sense of Hausfrau - Volksfuhrer Merkel's determination to flood Europe with illegal immigrants from those regions.

Only 5 Percent Of Russian Air Strikes Hitting Islamic, British Defence Secretary Lies
After an amazing outburst from the delusional Brack Obama left the United Nations General Assembly in stunned silence because Obama has accused Russia and China of all the recent breaches of international law of which the USA is demonstrably guilty, the propaganda departments of western governments seem to have totally lost their grip on reality.

Where Are Grandstanding FUKUS Axis Leaders As Libya Descends Into Oblivion
Remembering a time not so long ago when Libya was being held up by the French, UK and US governments as a striking example of benign and successful military 'humanitarian' intervention? The tyrant Gaddafi had been overthrown by a FUKUS Axis bombing campaign in support of a bloody revolution fought by Islamic Fundamentalists, Tribal Warlords and Common gangsters armed with American, British and French weapons paid for by western taxpayers.

Obama and FUKUS Axis Air Strikes On ISIS Will Make Things Worse
The bombing of ISIS, the Islamic State is well under way in Iraq and Syria, and as predicted the American, British and French led campaign is already making things worse for civilians among whom the ISIS fighters are dispersed. And of course, far from making the west safer, it is stirring up more hatred against us in the Islamic world.

World On The Brink - USA And Russia Square Up In Ukraine
It looks like this might be the big one. With all America's plans to destabilise non supine nations in ruins as phase 2, the intstallation of a puppet government proved impossible, Obama who has already been bested by Putin several times cannot back down again. And this time the Russians have forced the crisis in their own backyard where the USA cannot possibly win. Interesting

Can Washington Change Three regimes At Once
The FUKUS axis - let's be honest, the Obama Administration in the USA, France and the UK are just sockpuppets, may have bitten off more than they can chew in trying to deliveer regime change in three nations at one to satisfy their paymasters the global bankers. The log jam has developed because of the failure to remove assad in Syria and the resolute support of Russia, China and Iran for their ally.

War On Syria: Standoff Shows America Is No Longer The Global Superpower
So what's happening in Syria you might well ask? After the FUKUS Axis intervention plans were thwarted by Russia and China there seems to have been a news blackout although the devastating civil war continues to devastate Syria. The really big news however (bigger that J-Lo's arse) is that America has quietly been demoted from its position as main global military power.

The Third Gulf War Has Started - Should Britain Get Involved
For the third time in twenty five years a British Prime ~Minister has led the nation into a war in Iraq. It's understandable that Iraquis might be a bit pissed off with us. This time the threat is not a brutal dictator like Saddam hussein or Muammar Gadaffi, the Libyan leader we helped depose, but Islamic State, a concept, an idea, but also a rabble of bloodthirsty maniacs funded by European and American money, aremed with European and American weapons and trained by European and American 'military advisers.
